“The Unforgiving”, South Africa’s first splatter film, will be releasing at cinemas nationwide on the 20th of August.
Before you ask yourself while a movie preview is appearing on a gaming site, the film stars Ryan “ACh3” Macquet - a stalwart of the local CS community who currently plays for the side MTheory and used to be the leader of vintaGe.
In a statement to Bravado, ACh3 said the following:
The Unforgiving defies all moral boundaries and challenges South Africans to step up to the plate and support the first local movie of the splatter genre. Its gritty, gruesome, and will provide the viewer with a gripping and terrifying tale of the two survivors of South Africa’s most grotesque serial killer.
As per the official press release, The Unforgiving tells the story of Rex Dobson (Ryan Macquet) and Alice Edmonds (Claire Opperman) two young people who find themselves stranded alongside the R106, a freeway just outside Johannesburg. While waiting for help, they are abducted by a masked madman who does unthinkable things to them. Both survive, but wish they hadn't. As their stories unfold, it is clear that the truth of what happened that fateful day is far worse than anyone could imagine.
