Sunday night saw the return of the very popular local Starcraft 2 tournament, "The Fist". For those of you not familiar with the concept, The Fist uses a king of the hill format to determine who receives the title of "The Fist". Challengers will get their chance to face off against one another in a single elimination bracket, until only one remains. The last remaining player gets the chance to face off against the reigning Fist to challenge him for the title.
The tournament was highly successful during the beta phases of Starcraft 2, and tonight we saw the first tournament hosted after the retail release of SC2. This meant that a new Fist would be crowned during tonight's tournament, which means Dreamer will go down in the Fist's hall of fame as the holder of the title during the beta phase.
The competition saw 8 players fight it out for the title tonight. In the end it was Bravado's own Travis "Shase" Weedon who came out on top, beating McNoob 3-0 in the best of 5 final.

The Fist is from now on set to take place as often as possible. Tournament admin Sven "shadowthief" Paulsen has mentioned that he would like to host the tournament as regularly as possible, as long as it doesn't clash with other competitions being hosted.
Gamers who are interested to obtain more information about The Fist can head over to Mitarn's official The Fist website.
As always, gamers are encouraged to join us on irc server za.shadowfire.org in #starcraft2 to stay up to date on any SC2 related tournaments and events.
