Polarfluke: Factions starts on Monday

The South African SC2 scene has seen a variety of tournaments held after its July 27th release. These tournaments mostly focused on 1v1 tournament structures, and one 2v2 tournament. Both formats have proven to be very popular, but there has been a lack of clan based tournaments, where clans and multi gaming organizations can compete with one another.

Polarfluke: Factions is the first local tournament that will attempt to fill this gap within the local competitive SC2 scene. Each team, or "faction" can register between 3 to 5 players for the tournament, and then get to play against the other teams who have entered into the competition.

The competition will take on a league format in which teams are awarded points per map win. What sets this tournament apart from other tournaments, is that it combines 1v1 and 2v2 elements into one format. Each clan war will see 3 1vs1 games take place, followed by 2 2vs2 games. In the 2v2 matches, clans are not allowed to use the same pairing for each set.

Since this is the first tournament of its kind within the local SC2 scene, it will be interesting to see how the teams will go about organizing the games. There is an element of strategy involved outside the matches, which means that the teams will have to decide which players they will choose to face off against one another. This will surely provide some dynamic matchups in both the 1v1 and 2v2 games.

Bravado will be participating in the event, and we have included 3 players in our roster. Travis "Shase" Weedon, our SC2 captain will obviously feature, and joining him will be Alwyn "zdrAg" Kotze and Reino "skillbill" Jansen van Rensburg.

We would like to wish all the other participants good luck, and we are looking forward to see you guys in game.

Polarfluke: Factions starts on Monday the 30th of August. Players interested to obtain more information about the competition can head over to the official Polarfluke: Factions website.
